Easy Essential Skincare for Women in their 30s and 40s

by Yewande Zaka on January 08, 2024

Skincare in your late 30s and 40s can have its ups and downs and with the bevy of skin care products out there, it can be difficult sorting through products that are truly effective and work for a myriad of skin types. I have found, I need at least 4 main essentials to maintain decent skin.

Today I will share two products that have worked consistently well for me.

One is a fantastic liquid exfoliator- it works for a myriad of skin types- you may just want to reduce or increase use based on skin sensitivity. I have used it for over two years and it has worked wonders on my skin.

Paula’s Choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliant
  • Clears & minimizes enlarged pores

  • BHA sheds built-up layers of skin

  • Fluid, lightweight texture absorbs quickly

I use it once a day in the mornings as part of my daily routine. Super easy to use too.

The second product is my go to body moisturizer, my skin is eczema prone and can get pretty dry. I started alternating between this body lotion and another and it has worked wonders thus far. I have used it for about two years as well.

Laroche Posay Lipikar AP+M triple repair body moisturizer for dry skin

There was an almost immediate noticeable change in my skin texture. I absolutely love it. I also like that it is readily available everywhere.

I have also used this on my face for about a year, I typically never used the same moisturizer on my face and body but I tried this one out of necessity,  after I experimented with a vitamin C serum on my face that striped my skin barrier. It soothed my skin after about a day. Really amazing stuff.

If you’ve been struggling with basics, try both of these. I hope this helps.

Here is what my skin looks like at the moment. No makeup or filters.
